Trump, Prophecy and the End Times – Navigating Uncertain Times with Faith

In an era of rapid change and global uncertainty, many believers are seeking to understand how current events align with God’s plan for the world.

Recent political shifts, particularly in the United States, have left many wondering: Is God orchestrating these changes? How should we interpret prophecies about political leaders? Are we in the End Times? And most importantly, how can we stay focused on our spiritual calling amidst the chaos?

Is God using Donald Trump and men like Elon Musk to reshape the international political landscape to ultimately move the gospel of Jesus Christ forward? I believe He is.

I am not saying everything the new US administration or people like Elon Musk is doing is right or true. I am saying that in the broad picture God certainly has His hand in this.

A Warning

I was praying earlier this week and heard the Holy Spirit give me a warning for God’s people: ”My people are being indoctrinated by liberal media. Warn them to be careful.”

Don’t simply believe what you hear, see or read online. Test everything, especially with Scripture. The X app (previously Twitter) is one of only a few places for true freedom of speech, but there you also need to test everything.

If your primary source of information has been mainstream or “legacy” media, you might view Trump very negatively. Conversely, if you follow conservative outlets, your perspective might be significantly different.

It’s important to recognise that much of the legacy media has been promoting leftist ideological narratives, which for the most part is contrary to traditional biblical values and clearly propaganda for harmful ideas.

You simply cannot trust the mainstream media anymore!

God is still in control

Let’s start by acknowledging a fundamental truth: God is still in control.

While the world may seem tumultuous, we can take comfort in knowing that nothing catches our Heavenly Father by surprise.

As Amos 3:7-8 reminds us, “Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?”

This scripture highlights an important aspect of God’s nature – He often chooses to reveal His plans through prophecy. One striking example from recent years involves prophecies about Donald Trump’s presidency. As far back as 2007, some prophetic voices declared that Trump would serve two terms as president, despite it seeming highly improbable at the time.

The fulfilment of these prophecies has stirred faith in many believers, seeing it as a sign of divine intervention in world affairs.

However, it’s crucial to approach such prophecies and political events with discernment. We must remember that no human leader is our savior – only Jesus Christ holds that title. Our ultimate allegiance is to the Kingdom of God, not any earthly kingdom or political party.

That said, we cannot ignore the significant impact that political shifts can have on the spread of the Gospel. The United States, as a global superpower, wields enormous influence over world culture and policy. When America “sneezes,” the rest of the world often “catches a cold.” This influence can be used for good or ill, depending on the values and policies being promoted.

Dangerous Leftist Ideologies

In recent years, many Christians have been concerned about the spread of ideologies that contradict biblical values. Issues like gender confusion, restrictions on free speech, and the celebration of lifestyles that the Bible clearly defines as sinful have caused alarm. The pushback against these trends, led by figures like Elon Musk and Donald Trump, is seen by many as an answer to prayer – a modern-day example of God using unexpected individuals to accomplish His purposes.

This concept isn’t new.

The Bible provides us with the example of King Cyrus, a pagan ruler whom God used to fulfil His plans for Israel. Isaiah 44:28-45:6 contains a stunning prophecy about Cyrus, written over a century before his birth, in which God declares, “He is My shepherd, and he shall perform all My pleasure, saying to Jerusalem, ‘You shall be built,’ and to the temple, ‘Your foundation shall be laid.'”

God called Cyrus by name to send the Israelites back to Israel and help them rebuild the destroyed Temple of God. This passage reminds us that God can and does use even non-believers to carry out His will.

However, as we navigate these complex times, we must be vigilant against deception. Jesus warned us that in the last days, many would be led astray. It’s crucial that we don’t blindly trust any single source of information, whether it’s mainstream media, social media, or even popular preachers.

Instead, we must test everything against the infallible word of God.

This brings us to a vital point: the importance of free speech for the spread of the Gospel. The message of salvation through Jesus Christ is inherently offensive to a world that rejects God’s authority. Without the protection of free speech, the ability to openly proclaim biblical truth could be severely hampered. This is why many believers see the fight for free speech as a spiritual battle, not just a political one.

The Kingdom that shall stand forever

As we consider these weighty matters, it’s easy to become distracted or even fearful about the future. But we must remember the words of Daniel 2:44: “And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.”

This prophecy reminds us of an essential truth: The Kingdom of God is coming, and it will continue to expand until it fills the whole earth. This should fill us with hope and purpose, not fear. We are called to be active participants in building this Kingdom, regardless of what political or cultural winds may blow.

So how should we respond to these turbulent times? Here are a few key takeaways:

  1. Stay grounded in God’s Word. It’s our ultimate source of truth and guidance.

  2. Pray for discernment. Ask God to help you see through deception and recognize His hand at work.

  3. Focus on the Great Commission. Our primary calling is to make disciples of all nations.

  4. Be salt and light in your community. Stand for biblical values, but do so with love and grace.

  5. Trust in God’s sovereignty. He is working out His plans, even when we can’t see or understand them.

  6. Look forward to Christ’s return, but live with urgency for today. We don’t know when He will come back, so we must make the most of every opportunity to share His love.

In conclusion, while it’s important to be aware of world events and how they might relate to biblical prophecy, we must not lose sight of our primary mission. The Kingdom of God is advancing, and we are called to be its ambassadors.

Let’s fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, and press on toward the goal to which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus.

May we be found faithful when He returns, having used our time, talents, and resources to further His Kingdom. For in the end, it’s not about which political leader is in power or which cultural trend is dominating.

It’s about souls being saved, lives being transformed, and God’s glory being revealed in and through His people. Let’s commit ourselves anew to this glorious calling, trusting that the One who began a good work in us will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
